The Puri District Judge has observed that inspite of the earlier orders, Thalis and Pitchers are exhibited to collect money illegally. It is also brought to the court notice that people of religions other than Hinduism and foreigners are not allowed inside the main sanctum of Puri Jagannath Temple.

Additional Solicitor General has assured that the Union Ministry of Culture will involve in the matter as it is a subject of protection of cultural heritage of the country. A Bench of Justices directed the Centre to set up a committee to look into these aspects and present a report to the court by August 31,2018.
