BSF Half Marathon 2017 bhubaneswarBSF(Border Security Force) is organizing a half marathon to commemorate the sacrifices made by Border Security Forces personnel in the service of the nation.

The marathon will be held on 22nd October, 2017 from 0600hrs onward in major cities of India including Bhubaneswar. The event is open to all including men, women, students,children and senior citizens.

The registration for this event is open till 18 October 2017. The registration fees is Rs 100 only.

The Marathon has three categories.

Category 1 : Half Marathon for 21 KM

This category is open to only Men and women. Elders and children can not participate in this category. All the participants must be 18 years above.

Category 2 : RUN FOR FUN 10 KM

In this category all age group men, women and girls can participate.

Category 2 : RUN FOR FUN 5 KM

This section is open for children who are below 14 years.

The marathon has a huge sponsorship and is also awarding cash prizes for the top three winners of Rupees, 200000 .00 , Rs.150000.00 and Rs.100000.00 respectively.

To participate in this marathon, you have to pre-register. The registration can be done both online and off line.

Q.Will I get a certificate?
Ans.Yes, certificate can be collected from the finishing point. Certificate can also be collected from BSF campus Gajapati Nagar Bhubaneshwar, upto 30.10.2017.

Q.Will all locations across the race have sufficient security?
Ans.Yes, Proper security will be provided by Border Security Force and Odisha Police.

Q.Will medical assistance will be available during the race?

Ans.Yes, Proper medical cover will be provided by BSF medical team and other volunteer Hospitals.

Q.Will there be arrangements for rest room?
Ans.Yes, Rest room will be at start point and end point.

1. The participients who have actually registered for the events, will be allowed to run.
2. The participients will be allowed to participate in the age group to which they actually belong.
3. There will be NO medical check up before the event. Hence each participant has to ensure that he is physically, mentally and medically fit to participate in the event. Organizer will not be responsible for any kind of mental/physical/medical inconvenience or trouble to the participant. Though ambulance and normal medical assistance will be available at the venue.
4. Anybody found involved in malpractices like taking short cut, taking another route, using vehicle etc during the event, will be immediately disqualified from the event.
5. Every participant has to report at the start point latest by 0530 AM so that he may collect his running kit.

The BSF is the world’s largest Border guard with over 2.5 lac deployed personnel safeguarding every inch of India’s 6500 km long land border including Deserts, Mountains and Snow tops, Marshes, Rivers and Backwaters.

It has an Air Wing, Marine Wing, Artillery Regiments, Camel Wing and Several Commando Units including The Creek Commando. Its ranks include men & women from every part of the country who have fought & won legendary battles including The Battle of Longewala with several Medals, Decorations and honours to their credit.
