Valentine’s Day Fashion Faux Pass: The Makeover

Worried about that Valentine’s Day look? Bored of wearing the same old cocktail dresses or chinos? Well, we might have something in store for you that is ethereal and one-of-a-kind.

This Valentine’s, when everyone is wrapped up in their forever seen western or indo-western attire, there’s something which is brewing up at Raas Studio, Bhubaneswar. The Studio creates minimalist designs of Indian, especially Odisha hand looms with that spicing of the western gauntlet by the Dubai based International designer Pritam Panda. The noble venture started by the well known vocal artist, Ms Rashmi Mohapatra, the fashion comes in anything that makes the headturns, she quotes: “I want to revive the fabulous tradition of loom weaving of Odisha through the designs so that it can make a comeback. In order to attract the younger generation, we will have to give it a contemporary spin that would be the trend forecasting for the upcoming showcase of collection at Paris Fashion Week.”

From adopting weaver clusters to unveiling exclusive creations, Raas has severely pulled out all the stops to reinvent fashion in that pristine era of the looms, where all the magic happened.
